Retreats

Health/Medical Form

If you are a Guild Member attending an in-person event such as a workshop, sew day, or retreat, prior to the retreat we ask you to please print and fill out a copy of the Guild medical information form (click on the button below), seal the completed form within an envelope, and print your full name on the outside of the envelope.  Bring the sealed envelope with you to the event and provide it to the event coordinator (at the start - prior to sewing).  The envelope will only be opened in case of emergency, and if unopened will be returned to you at the end of the event.

Elim Lodge Retreats

The Durham Trillium Quilters' Guild currently holds our "away" type retreats at Elim lodge. These retreats start on Thursday at 10:30 AM and participants can stay at the lodge for either two or three nights.

For details about Elim Lodge, check out their website.

Elim Lodge Website

Fall 2022 - Elim Lodge November 3-6, 2022

The fall retreat at Elim Lodge will go ahead, following the health and safety protocols prescribed by the Province of Ontario and the local health unit, and requirements of Elim Lodge. We require a minimum of 20 persons and there is a maximum of 30. Each attendee will have their own single bedroom, and the premium for single rooms has been waived.

Registration opens on July 1, 2022.  Members must register and fully pay by October 1, 2022 to be able to attend.  Due to limited attendence, registration will be on a first registered (and paid) basis.  Attendees must have registered and paid for guild membership for 2022-2023 to be able to attend the retreat, so be sure to register (click here) and pay for your membership (registration starts July 1, 2022).

You must have been double vaccinated more than 14 days prior to the sign-up deadline of October 1, to be eligible to attend retreat. Depending on provincial requirements at the time, you may have to show your Province of Ontario proof of vaccination status at the Elim Lodge office prior to entering the chapel.  If you have a medical vaccination exemption, please contact the retreat coordinator.

We will be allowing attendees to bring their own small portable irons to use at their stations (for the Elim retreats only).

Registration is on a first registered, first served basis, assuming that payments are received on time.

  • When: July 01, 2022 from 10:30 AM through to and including October 1, 2022
  • Cost per person: $420.00 for 3 nights/4 days (10 meals) OR $345.00 for 2 nights/3 days (7 meals). Includes internet access for the weekend and single rooms.
  • Payment schedule:  Registrants can pay in one or four installments.

3 nights:  Pay $420 at time or registration or pay $105 at time of registration and August 1, September 1, and October 1.

2 nights:  Pay $345 at time of registration or pay $86.25 at time of registration and August 1, September 1, and October 1.

  • How to sign up: Registration will open on Tuesday July 1.  Once open, members need to complete the online form (will be below once available).  Payments are to be sent via e-transfer to dtqguild@gmail.com. Options are a single payment, or four installment payments (options and due dates are in the registration form - you will be emailed a copy of your completed form once you successfully register).  Be sure to put “Fall Elim Retreat” and your name in the e-transfer comment so we know what the payment is for and who it is for (not always obvious from payment email address). We have set a deadline of October 1 for all registrations and all payments to be received.
  • Important: COVID requirements will be set based on provincial requirements and requirements of Elim Lodge at the time of the retreat.  During the last retreat, masks were optional.  The retreat coordinators will advise of the requirements closer to the time of the actual retreat.
  • Attendees are allowed to bring small portable irons to use at your station (Elim retreat only).
  • Meals: Meals are served in the dining room, plated, and everyone receives the same meals. If you require a special diet, you will be required to bring your own meals which can be heated up in the dining hall by the Elim staff. Note: fish will not be on the menu!   Attendees should advise the retreat coordinators of any food allergies or restrictions on their registration form.  If insufficient space is available, please contact the retreat coordinator immediately after registration.
  • Refund policy: If you cancel more than 14 days before the retreat start date, you get 100% refund. If you cancel less than 14 days before the retreat start date, the meal portion will be deducted from your refund in accordance with Elim’s refund policy as they order food two weeks ahead of the retreat, and that must be paid for.

Registration for this event will open to guild members on July 1.

Stay At Home Retreats

Our Stay at Home retreats are held in a local community hall during the day, and you go home at night. It's the best of both worlds - getting together to sew and socialize with other members, someone else doing the cooking, then getting to sleep in your own bed at the end of the day.

Fall 2022 - Home Sew Sweet Retreat - September 30 - October 02, 2022

NOTE: We have received registrations for the maximum # of participants (28). You may register using the form below, to be added to the waiting list. Please DO NOT SEND PAYMENT if you register for the waiting list, unless the retreat convenor contacts you to tell you that someone has cancelled and you are being given the cancellation spot.

The fall stay at home retreat at Club Loreley in Oshawa will go ahead, following the health and safety protocols prescribed by the Province of Ontario and the local health unit, and requirements of Club Loreley. We require a minimum of 24 persons and there is a maximum of 28.
